Kamoizumi Orizuru Edition Junmaishu & Hagi Yaki Ceramic Gift Set
Specification
Description
Crafted by Kamoizumi, the pioneer of junmai sake. Made only from rice, rice koji, and water, this junmai sake is made with 100% Yamada Nishiki rice grown by local farmers, giving it a soft, fine-grained mouthfeel.
Its label is made from recycled paper crafted from origami paper cranes, the thousands of cranes sent from around the world to Hiroshima's Peace Memorial Park, collected and transformed into a one-of-a-kind washi paper. More than a premium sake, it connects Hiroshima's brewing heritage with a shared wish for peace, making it a fitting gift or a meaningful toast.
It has the plump, rich rice flavor typical of a junmai sake, with a smooth, well-rounded finish, and can be enjoyed at any temperature from chilled to hot.
Chilled or at room temperature, it's refreshing with a mellow depth of flavor, light and clean enough to pair well with fatty fish and meat dishes. Warmed, it reveals more depth in the rice, with a mellower flavor and a smoother texture.
It pairs well with sushi, tempura, and grilled seafood.
Hagi Yaki (Ware)
Hagi-Yaki is a 400-year-old ceramic tradition from Hagi city in southwestern Japan.
Known for its soft, earthy aesthetic, Hagi-Yaki develops fine surface cracks, caused by the clay and glaze shrinking at different rates during firing.
These cracks allow tea and moisture to seep in over time, gradually changing the vessel's appearance and depth. A distinctive feature is the small notch cut into the base of each piece.
One popular story suggests that originally only the feudal lord could use Hagi-Yaki, but by deliberately cutting the base to mark it as "flawed," craftsmen allowed commoners to use it too. Enjoy the soft, gentle character of the clay and the gradual transformation of color and patina as you use it over time
